Restaurants: To host families interested in experiencing a taste of their hosted child’s culture, we highly recommend you look up international markets or restaurants in your community that specialize in the traditional cuisine that your hosted children are accustom to. We recommend families visit these businesses, talk to the staff, and taste their food. Hosted children will likely enjoy this experience as well. Any investment in reciprocal learning will enrich the hosting experience and elevate relational bonding.
If you have a positive experience at an ethnic-centric business or restaurant, please share that experience with Frontier Horizon so that we can recommend it to other hosts in your area.
