Keyla is a quiet, sweet, loving girl who has attended our program since 2012. She lives in a two-room dirt-floor board shack with her older brother, mother, and step-father. Her mother works out of the home doing piece work and her father has a full-time minimum-wage job as a carpenter. Keyla studies English and in class is always attentive and well-behaved. Her favorite thing about our program is her English teacher, whom she adores. She also likes to play on the playground with her friends, and she says that she comes to the program because she wants to study to have a better life. Keylas favorite food is hamburgers. A soft-spoken girl, she comes out of her shell when playing baseballs during our Sports Club and dancing during Dance Club, frequently winning dance competitions!
