What We Do
Frontier Horizon offers several on-going programs to help meet the needs of orphaned and underprivileged children.
Ukrainian Hosting Program: This historically successful program aims to provide exchange opportunities to children from partner Orphanages in Ukraine with United States host families. The cost of the program is approximately $3500, per child. Twice each year (during the summer and Christmas holidays) children are placed with host families throughout the United States. The interaction encourages cultural and ethnic understanding, develops new and interesting friendships and creates life-changing opportunities in the lives of these children. Several of them have found paths toward adoption while in the States. Although Frontier Horizon is not an adoption agency, it is our profound hope to see every potential adopter and adoptee satisfied, especially when that process can be a monumental change in living standards and opportunities for a child. Financial Assistance to Orphanages: Although concerned with all types of poverty, Frontier Horizon is principally oriented toward children in orphanages and schools. It is our belief that by reducing the effects of poverty at a young age, improving environments and educating young people, we can increase the chances of economic and social success later in life and provide children with viable opportunities as opposed to an otherwise austere outlook. In the years that we have formed valuable relationships with orphanages around the world, it has become evident the profound ambition of so many children and young adults that simply have not been afforded the proper opportunities. We seek to change this seemingly interminable cycle. Presently, Frontier Horizon serves serveral Nicaraguan orphanages located in and around the capital city of Managua and its surrounding areas as well as with multiple orphanages in the cities of Odessa, Mariupol, Gorodnya, and Lviv, Ukraine. Mission Trips and On-Site Assistance: Each year, Frontier Horizon conducts several short-term missions to the centers of poverty that receive aid from the organization. The purpose of these short-term visits will be primarily aimed at intimate and meaningful interaction between team members from the U.S. and the children that inhabit the many sites that will be visited. In the past, these trips have entailed several recreational trips and activities such as the beach, zoo, amusement parks, restaurants, etc. Amid these many activities, long-lasting friendships have been formed between adults from the U.S. and these abandoned children.
