Hosting Program

Hosting Overview Frontier Horizon is a humanitarian aid organization established to meet immediate and long-term needs of orphans and destitute people around the world.

At the moment we work mainly in Nicaragua and Ukraine. In 2000, we began a Hosting Program where orphaned children travel to the United States to stay with host families for two or three weeks each year.

The goal of the Frontier Horizon Hosting Program is to raise awareness of the needs of orphaned children.

Many families are interested in adopting the children they host or meet through the Frontier Horizon Hosting Program. There is a large number of children who are already adopted and living in the United States as a direct result of the program. You may want to experience having an older child in your house before you adopt, or you may simply want to give a child a vacation away from the orphanage for a few weeks. The advantage of the program is that it affords a number of life-changing opportunities for both your family and the child.

There are numerous ways in which Frontier Horizon tries to help the children.

Donations for basic needs such as food, clothing, medicine, and education as well as short-term humanitarian aid trips and grants for self-sufficiency projects or building repair all help to meet such needs. This program is just one more resource to improve the lives of the children with whom we work.

Often, families who do not adopt still take a vested interest in their child’s future by funding that child’s basic needs and/or future education.Regardless of your reason to host, please be aware that Frontier Horizon is a humanitarian aid organization and not an adoption agency.

The main goals of this program are ultimately to improve the health, education, and general welfare of all orphan children. While we are excited about the potential of adoption for these children, Frontier Horizon is not an adoption agency and we do not have any control or influence over the adoption process.

This program aims to provide exchange opportunities to children from partner Orphanages in Ukraine with U.S. families at the cost of approximately $3500 per child. This cost includes the child’s airfare, passport, visa, travel and medical insurance, and miscellaneous travel expenses such as food and hotel room.

The Hosting Program Fee also covers the cost for guardians and translators who are required to travel with the children. What is left over goes to fund Frontier Horizon’s humanitarian aid projects.

We typically receive a group of children twice a year (during the summer and Christmas holidays), who are then placed with host families throughout the United States.

The interaction encourages cultural and ethnic understanding, develops new and interesting friendships and creates life-changing opportunities in the lives of these children.

Frontier Horizon feels that our Hosting Program provides both orphaned children and United States families with an opportunity that they would otherwise go without. Our Hosting Program has made a dramatic change in the lives of adoptive families and adopted children, and it has enabled us to provide orphanage children with significant changes in their daily lives. To begin the application process for the hosting program please download the pre-application found below:
