An amazing kid.

Vladik has been an amazing kid - totally game for anything - any experience, any food (except FISH) and anyone I’ve asked him to meet. He’s been incredibly easy and has had MANY experiences since his arrival in June, as have I. As a writer, I blog weekly, with photos, so if you go to this link and scroll down from the most recent post, you’ll see his entire summer ‘o fun - http://salgal99.livejournal.com/ - Week after next, not so much fun - his trip to the dentist, which he’s looking forward to like, well, getting his teeth drilled. But it’s a necessary evil and after that, more fun will be had. This has been a great experience and we’re telling people galore about it.

Vlad From Donetsk

Vlad has been with us for almost 6 weeks now, he has learned English very quickly, but still talks to the kids mostly in Russian, even though they do not seem to know it anymore.

He started Summer School here yesterday and loves it, he is doing very well and is eager to learn. Language doesn’t seem to be much of a problem for him, he even manages to play with kids in the Library etc. that have no idea what he is saying.

Vlad is a very nice and playful boy, he really has made us like him. This has just been such a wonderful experience, but it is hard to think of a month from now having to send him back.

We look forward to hosting him again, he has just fit in so well with our family.

Oh BTW who do we send a bill to for the food he eats? This little guy can out eat an army!
